The round of sixteen games

Updated: May 3, 2017

The play-offs.
The first match for the girls was between Croatia 1 and Slovakia. Even though they’ve had a hard and sleepless night because of the upcoming game, the young and promising basketball players from Croatia did not show any fatigue and managed to steal an important victory from the Slovakian girls, placing themselves in the quarterfinals where Greece is waiting for them.
At the same time, the French boys and the Latvians had their encounter on the neighbouring court. The French quickly scored a few points and held their advantage till the rest of the game. In the battle for proceeding to the semi-finals, France’s team will go up against the Croats that won against Kosovo today.
The next game to have been played by the girls was between Turkey and Brazil. Even though the Brazilians fought and tried their best, they could not make ends meet, thus failing to surpass the Turkish score. As the girls from Turkey are climbing to the top, they must now face the Serbian basketball team in the quarterfinals.
When it comes to Greece’s boys, they continue to show their strength by winning against the Slovenes with a 20 point difference. Their next opponent is Turkey, who played and won against Estonia today, following the same strategy until now – by beginning with ease and then accelerating the pace of the game and wearing the opponent out. The Estonians tried to make a comeback, but the Turks simply did not give them a chance.
Unlike the Estonians, the Danes fought and earned their victory against Belgium Flanders in the last minute. Tomorrow, the boys’ team from Denmark will compete against Germany’s team for the semi-finals.
